Wounds can be Healed

He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension. Psalm 147:3,4

Everyday circumstances reveal God's hand in our lives and surroundings. A great example is our animals. I had a little maltese who was licking his leg constantly and as much as I rebuked him, he would not listen to me. He just kept licking. Soon the little wound on his leg became severely infected, swollen and painful. He kept licking, trying to heal his little wound, instead it became worse.

When I was fighting with him to stop trying to fix his wound, God impressed on my heart how we as human beings are constantly doing that. We try to heal our own wounds instead of allowing Him access to it so that He can bring about a healing that will last.

Eventually little Ricky had no option but to let us clean his wound, cut the hair around it, put on Neosporin and finally close it with a plaster. Three days later, his wound was healing quickly and we still nursed it until it was completely healed.

What God wants us to do is come to Him with our open wounds, giving Him full access to pour on His healing balm, allow Him to do whatever He needs to do so that our wounds will heal completely. There may be scars left behind but they are reminders to us of God's healing hand on our lives. Those scars testify to the awesome faithfulness of a God who is interested in us to the point of wanting to be involved in healing our wounds.

If you have open wounds today, allow God full access to the raw pain so that permanent healing can take place. He is our healer not only of physical diseases but also of wounds that won't heal without His help.

Allow Him to apply His healing balm and gently bring about complete healing to those inner wounds.
